Bedford is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. It is an eastern suburb of Cleveland, OH. Bedford began as part of the Connecticut Western Reserve in 1797.The area attracted many enterprising settlers due to the large amount of hardwood forests and waterfalls that made the area conducive to building mills. Bedford Township was officially founded in 1823.

In the most recent 2010 census, Bedford boasted a population of 13,074. Bedford is proud to be the birthplace of many famous and important people throughout history, including Halle Berry, Theodatus Garlick & Lou Diamond.


Solon is a city in Cuyahoga County that is a suburb of Cleveland. More than 23,000 people reside in the 20 square miles of land that make up Solon. Solon has a strong economy and in 2013 was granted a Google eCity award, recognizing it as the city with the strongest online business community in Ohio.

In 1820 the first settlers arrived to Solon from Connecticut. The township was named after Lorenzo Solon Bull. Early Solon settlers faced challenges from drainage and wetlands that complicated agriculture and settlement. Persevering through these obstacles, Solon became a farming area producing corn, wheat and dairy farms. Solon was one of the first cities to use a comprehensive zoning plan and has been able to achieve a strong industrial base.

Mayfield Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States, and is an east-side suburb of Cleveland. Mayfield Heights was initially built up as a streetcar suburb. It was incorporated as a village in 1925 and as a city in 1951. The city derives its name from Mayfield Township, now defunct.

In the most recent 2010 census, Mayfield Heights boasted a population of 18,827. Of the city’s Mayfield Heights population over the age of 25, 38.3% hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.


Shaker Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. It is just on the edge of the eastern city limits of Cleveland, OH. Shaker Heights is part of Cleveland’s older inner-ring and is considered one of its first suburbs .In 1911, a petition by property owners was successful in detaching a group of land parcels from the south of Cleveland Heights, to be named Shaker Village. In November 1911, the voters of Shaker Village formed Shaker Heights Village, which was incorporated in January 1912.

In the most recent 2010 census, Shaker Heights boasted a population of 28,448. John Carroll University is partially located in Shaker Heights, with the university owning several residential and commercial properties in the city. Additionally, Shaker Heights is in close proximity to University Circle. Shaker Heights, OH was famously billed as the hometown of Ted Mosby on the hit television show How I Met Your Mother.


Beachwood, OH is both a suburb of Cleveland and a city in Cuyahoga County. Beachwood started as a part of the Connecticut Western Reserve in the Warrensville Township. The city seceded from the Township after a vote was cast to close a school in the Beachwood area. After a petition was organized, Beachwood became incorporated into an independent village. By 1960, Beachwood, OH has attained full city status. The city got its name from the many beech trees that grow throughout the area.

As of the 2010 U.S. census, there were more than 11,900 people residing in Beachwood, OH. It is located near Shaker Heights & University Heights, close to John Carroll University. One of Beachwood’s premier attractions is Beachwood Place, an upscale shopping mall. Beachwood Place features stores like Dillard’s, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue and more.


Cleveland Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and an inner-ring suburb of Cleveland. It was founded as a village in 1903 and a city in 1921.The area that is now Cleveland Heights was settled later than most of Cuyahoga County. The first road through what is today the city, Mayfield Road, was not built until 1828. Besides farms, the area also had quarries in the 19th century. John D. Rockefeller arrived in what is today Cleveland Heights in 1873.

As per the city’s 2010 census, the population was 46,121. Cleveland Heights was ranked the 8th largest city by population in the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area and ranked 20th in Ohio. 


Twinsburg is a city in Summit County, Ohio, about halfway between Akron and Cleveland. A pair of identical twins named Moses and Aaron Wilcox from Killingworth, Connecticut, purchased some 4,000 acres of land in 1819 and began selling small parcels at low prices to attract other settlers. They were lifelong business partners, held all their property in common, married sisters, had the same number of children, contracted the same fatal ailment and died within hours of each other.

In 2013, Twinsburg was named the 38th best place to live in the United States by Christine Phillips and CNN Money Magazine. Twinsburg holds a yearly festival for twins and other multiple births, called Twins Days. Non-twins are also welcome to attend. This festival started in 1976 with only 36 sets of twins but has grown to be the world’s largest annual gathering of twins, with approximately 3,000 sets attending each year.


Chagrin Falls is a village located in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, and is a suburb of Cleveland. The village was established in 1844 and earned its name from a waterfall along the Chagrin River in the middle of town. Its location along the river made Chagrin Falls an industrial and commercial center. By the early 1840s, the village supported nine mills, including a saw mill, flouring mill, paper mill, and more.

According to the 2013 census, the population is a little over 4,000. Chagrin Falls is only a total of 2.14 square miles, of which 0.06 square miles is completely covered by water.


Macedonia, OH is a city located in Summit County, Ohio and is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. In the early 1800s, a man named Henry Woods discovered a stream he called Indian Run. A few years later, Abraham Cranmer purchased 90 acres of property near Indian Run. This settlement was originally referred to as “The Corners,” but an inside joke among some theology students from Western Reserve College eventually prompted the name Macedonia.

As per the 2013 U.S. census, Macedonia, OH has a population of approximately 11,500. One of the city’s biggest attractions is the Longwood Manor located in Longwood Park in Macedonia, OH. The founding mayor of Macedonia, Colonel William Frew Long, built Longwood Manor back in 1924. The entire Manor was given to the city of Macedonia in 1984 to be used as a public park.


Northfield, OH is a village located in Summit County, Ohio, and is part of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area. Established in 1807, the area was originally called Olde Northfield Township. It began as 27 square miles in Portage County, Ohio, but later was divided into four communities, including Macedonia, OH. By 1912, Northfield, OH starting evolving into the village we all know today.

According to the 2013 census, the village of Northfield has a population of more than 3,650. Today, Northfield, OH is a small village with a total area of 1.08 square miles of all land.


Pepper Pike is a city in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area. In 1763, pioneers established historic Orange Township, which included what is present-day Pepper Pike, OH. The area’s primary industry was dairy farming and cheese production for many years. Orange Township voted to incorporate the village of Pepper Pike in 1924. Pepper Pike later became incorporated as a city in 1970. It’s rumored that the city earned its name from the Pepper family, who lived and worked along the primary turnpike.

According to the 2013 census, the population of Pepper Pike is 6,149. The city has a total area of 7.09 square miles. Of this total area, Pepper Pike has 0.03 square miles of water and 7.06 square miles of land.


Hudson is a city located in Summit County, Ohio. In 1799, David Hudson settled the area after traveling from Connecticut, which is how the area received its name. Hudson was a stop on the Underground Railroad in the 19th century. One of the most well-known landmarks in the city is the large brick clock tower. The original one was destroyed by a fire in 1903, but the Hudson residents rebuilt it. The brick clock tower in the center of Hudson, OH is a familiar and historic staple in the area.

According to the 2013 census, Hudson, OH has a growing population of 22,474. The city has a total area of 25.87 square miles. Hudson, OH is mostly made up of land, with only 0.27 square miles of water.
